Hennepin County defines businesses as rental property owners and managers; home-based businesses; non-profits such as schools, churches and neighborhood organizations; condominium and townhouse associations; office and apartment buildings; government entities; and any other businesses.

Hazardous Wastes

Electronics, paint, fluorescent lamps and many other business hazardous wastes must be managed and disposed of by businesses per hazardous waste Minn. Rule 7045.0208.

Problem Materials

Hennepin County accepts limited amounts of these problem materials from businesses at our drop off facilities:

  • appliances
  • tires
  • used motor oil
  • lead acid automotive batteries

Recycling

Call your waste hauler about recycling services for your business, or use the Resourceful Waste Management Guide to find recycling drop off centers or pick-up services.

Hennepin County accepts some recyclables from businesses at our drop off facilities.

Solid Waste

Hennepin County businesses are responsible for contracting with a waste hauler for the removal of trash.
