Rethink & Reduce Tips

• Don't stockpile tires. Stockpiled tires can provide a breeding place for mosquitoes. The Tree Hole Mosquito can transmit Lacrosse encephalitis, a virus that primarily affects children. 
• To get the most mileage from your tires, follow proper tire maintenance recommendations, including inflation, balancing, and rotating. This will also help improve your gas mileage.
• Repair leaky tires; tire stems, nail holes and seals.

• Bring old tires to the place of purchase, fees may apply.
• Contact your city recycling coordinator for other disposal options, such as city clean ups. 
• City of Minneapolis residents only: Obtain voucher to dispose of up to 4 tires.  Call the City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling Division at (612) 673-2917.

Accept: Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Tires : $3 per tire, with or without a rim

Caterpillar/tractor tires larger than 4 feet in diameter are not accepted.

It is illegal to throw tires in the garbage or dump them on private property or public land.

Residents with more than 20 tires or tires larger than 4 feet in diameter should check with local tire recyclers. See a list of tire recyclers at RethinkRecycling.com.
